Our Cast heaters are acclaimed for their liquid cooling function which important for maintaining the proper temperature of the barrel in the extrusion. We offer a wide range of liquid cooling variations, styles and terminations. Stainless steel terminal boxes are used to avoid exposure to live electric terminals. Threaded post terminals with 10-32 threads are firmly tied to the tubular heating element cold pin, which assures positive electrical contact for maximum amperage carrying capacity.
Specially designed Ceramic insulator in the standard terminal gives support to the screw terminals. The tubular heater is recessed into the insulator to avoid the screw terminals from bending or breaking from mechanical abuse.
The casting is secured to the barrel using specially designed low expansion 304 stainless steel clamping straps with socket head cap screws and barrel nuts in these heaters. Weight and length of the heater determines the width and number of the straps.
Specially designed steel and cast iron moulds are used in our Permanent Mould Casting Process. These moulds produce a dense casting, free of internal voids and drastically reduce porosity, resulting in smoother as-cast surfaces. No-bake sand moulds are used for casting as it produces a better quality casting than other sand processes. Our clients can avail from us customized inside diameter as per their specifications.
Since cooling tube failures usually occur before heating element failures, our skilled professionals have ensured to manufacture using high quality corrosion & stress resistant cooling tubes. Incoloy® tubing performs best under harsh conditions when compared to stainless steel tubing owing to its less susceptibility to carbide precipitation that produces internal stress corrosion cracking. Using tubing with a .049-inch-thick wall is essential to prevent cracked cooling tubes due to linear thermal expansion as they exit the Cast-In Heater.
We use the largest possible diameter steel sheath tubular heater for larger heater life. Commonly used is 11mm diameter element with 6mm diameter cold pins. This pin size allows installation of larger and stronger screw terminal connections, providing additional strength to prevent broken terminals due to mechanical abuse.
Our clients can avail these Cooling tube extensions a per your specified length, with various types of tube fittings factory installed. To avoid corrosion, we also offer non-exposed cooling tube fittings.
